The bag shown in these photographs is the exact piece you will receive, including its unique colours, pattern and handwoven variations.
Durable acrylic thread keeps the bag lighter than a leather tote, while the wide, flat woven strap spreads the load instead of digging in.
The story in the name
“Mochila” is Spanish for bag. A Wayuu mochila is something else: one artisan hand-crochets a continuous spiral of thread over days of work. Small variations are part of the craft, so no two pieces are exactly alike.

Crossbody, tote and beach mochilas close with a woven drawstring and tassels. Pull the cords together to secure the opening—simple to use, with no zip to fight with.
Each bag is handwoven in Colombia with durable Colombian acrylic thread. Hand washing in cool water is the safest option for every piece. Reshape while damp, air dry and do not tumble dry. If this product’s Bag details explicitly says “Gentle cold machine wash,” use a low spin.
